Imperial Valley College Women's Basketball Win Pasadena City College for the Sisterhood of Champions Tournament

IMPERIAL 11-14-23 – Imperial Valley College Women’s basketball team traveled the weekend of 11/2-11/4 to Pasadena City College for the Sisterhood of Champions Tournament. The ladies went 3-0 in the tournament as they defeated their opponents including the host of the tournament Pasadena City College in the semis to reach the championship game. In the semis it was a hard fought battle especially for IVC to overcome their losing streak against Pasadena where they finally beat them in years. The game was handled on the defensive side for IVC as defensively they blocked out their opponents top two scoring players which was key to their win. Defensively they continued to stay on top of their toes knowing Pasadena was not a team to loosen up their game plan for. The ladies made their way to the championship game with all the momentum on their side especially coming off a big semis win. The women's basketball team faced the Canyons in the championship where they went on to win 67-61. IVC's very own Orian Anderson was awarded tournament MVP with a championship performance of 28 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists. Anderson over the tournament averaged 24 plus points per game. Including stats of 7 plus rebounds, and 3 rebounds per game. Along with Carolina Sauceda who won All-Tournament Team in which she led the entire tournament in total with 17 assists, and 18 steals. Stand out freshman starter for IVC Amy Riley finished her first college in season tournament with a combined total of 26 points and 23 rebounds. Congratulations to our IVC Womens Basketball Team!
