The Imperial Valley College Men's Soccer team was able to improve their season record to 2-1 after a dominating victory over Santiago Canyon College.
The Desert Warriors were able to score early and often leading to a final score of 4-1. Scoring has been the early theme for IVC, giving them a total of 9 goals in just 3 games.
Diego Padilla opened the scoring with a spectacular bicycle kick just inside the box. Santiago Canyon scored the tying goal off a penalty kick, but it was all IVC after that. Joseph Rosas added two goals of his own in minute '59 and '69 increasing the lead to 3-1 at the time. Mizael Rocha put the game away for IVC's fourth goal in minute '74.
Coach Aguilera stated that it was a great team effort in all facets of the game. The team is playing with a lot of confidence and looks to build off the early season momentum.
The Desert Warriors will be back in action on Friday as they as scheduled to travel to Glendale College for a 5:00 PM kick-off.
