Benavides was recognized by the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference as one of 4 best student athletes for the month of September. Benavides is a member if our Women's Cross Country team. Here is a list of her accomplishments during the month.

1. Benavides won the Palomar Invitational on September 7 in a time of 19:31.3, finishing nine seconds ahead of her closest competitor.

2. Finished second among PCAC runners at the SoCal Preview and finished 11th overall with a time of 19:11.0.

3. Benavides continued to improve in the third meet of the month when she finished first among community college athletes at the Coyote Challenge, finishing the 5k race in 18:34.8.
