Bio

Juan Palma joined Imperial Valley College as a Certified Athletic Trainer in the Fall of 2021. He graduated from California State University, Fresno with his B.S. in Athletic Training and earned his certification with the Board of Certification in 2019.  

A graduate of Holtville High School, Juan began his sports medicine education at Eastern Arizona College, where he worked primarily with their football and baseball teams. During his time in the Fresno State Athletic Training Program, he worked primarily with their football, tennis, softball, and track & field teams. He also gained clinical experience with Sierra Pacific Orthopedic Center, Fresno Pacific University, and various local high schools.  

Upon returning to the Imperial Valley, he spent 2 seasons with the Imperial High School football team. With IHS football, he provided care for the athletes including taping, bracing, injury evaluation, concussion diagnosis and a variety of therapeutic interventions.  

 Outside of athletics, Juan enjoys baseball, fishing and snorkeling in his free time.
